On day one each student takes a placement test to determine their level of English. From there they are divided into levels of ability and are taught accordingly, using a supplied workbook specifically designed for their level.
Our teachers are qualified professionals able to work at British Council accredited schools, with the majority holding a Trinity Certificate or Cambridge CELTA teaching qualification.
Students will be taught in a maximum of 10 students per class.
Students should have a minimum score of IELTS 5.0 to participate in a Redwing summer course. These courses are aimed at motivated students who are committed to developing life skills through study and leisure in a friendly, secure,University environment.
Each student will receive 20 hours of English tuition per week divided over 5 mornings or afternoons. 2-hours in the morning will be General English tuition and 2-hours after a break will be University project-based work. We call this our UniLife programme. These projects will be fun and students will have chance to experience what University in the UK or US is really like.
Redwing’s English language courses are designed to help students increase their knowledge of English and build their confidence in using English. Our courses are designed to really help students improve communication skills so lessons include plenty of opportunities for students to use the language. Classroom activities include role-play, pair-work, group-work, group projects, surveys, questionnaires and games. Our University project sessions are designed for students to work in small groups and achieve group goals in presentations etc.
Students can book courses from 2-4 weeks. Please check the Dates section on this website for current course dates or email a Redwing Education member of staff for availability.
Progress is tested at the end and mapped against original scores to show improvements made whilst with Redwing. Students will also be judged on their University project and will hopefully graduate.
